New immigrants face enormous obstacles when they reach our country that often prevent them from establishing a home, career and a new life. While most immigrants are anxious to work and become self-sufficient, the most vulnerable of them need help assimilating to our way of life and getting the services they need like health care and housing.
What we do
The S.T.E.P.S. Immigration Legal Services program offers newly arrived immigrant families access to government and community services and benefits.
Our outreach workers help clients apply for the following:
- Medicaid
- Food Stamps
- Public cash assistance
- Housing
- Health care
- Legal aid
- Child-care services
