In Miami-Dade County, an estimated 24 percent of all elderly homes are in need of minor or major repairs. For many elderly, disabled and low-income caregivers much-needed home repairs are expensive and out of reach.
 As a licensed contractor, S.T.E.P.S. is able to make the needed changes to homes so people can live comfortably and independently. For many, staying in their homes despite their age and ailments remains the key to a high quality of life.
We assist the frail and homebound individuals by adding the equipment and materials they need to live well as they grow old. We do this, in part, by improving their low environmental score through services and assistance identified during assessment using the Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA) assessment tool.
